The MTC-250 series is equipped with a natural granite base. Both slides and the housing of the workholding spindle are made of granite as well.

The X-axis, with hydrostatic bearing, is equipped with a workholding spindle with aerostatic bearing, allowing for workpiece-diameters of up to 230 mm (9"). As an optional feature, a tool measuring system is integrated into the X-axis.

An aero-/hydrostatic rotary table (B-Axis) can optionally be mounted to the Z-Axis. The B-axis allows for 360° of rotation and is driven by a torque motor.

The two slide axes of the MTC-250 ultra-precision turning machine are driven by linear motors. By the use of diamond tools, surfaces with optical quality can be achieved for a wide range of crystals, nonferrous metals and polymers.
