The MSC-1100 series is equipped with a natural granite base.

The X-Y-axis cross slide and the Z-axis with high speed spindle are equipped with hydrostatic bearings. These axes, used for dynamic structuring, are driven by linear motors.

A vacuum-chuck or other equipment can be attached to the Y-axis slide. The milling spindle with aerostatic bearing is mounted to the Z-axis, which is equipped with a ball bearing unit and driven by a DC servo motor.

The milling spindle allows workpiece diameters of up to 200 mm (7.5"), and through the use of diamond tools, surfaces can be achieved with optical quality for a wide range of crystals, non-ferrous metals and polymers.
